Ezekiel
37 tells how the Spirit of the LORD carried the prophet and placed him in the
midst of a valley full of dry bones. God asked Ezekiel, "Can these bones
live?" In his response, "O Lord GOD, thou knowest," God gave
several commandments that would bring life back to those bones. Through his
obedience to the word of God, the bones received a flesh-and-blood body and
stood to their feet, an exceeding great army! If we are going to see this kind
of revival, we must first walk in complete obedience to the Spirit and Word of
God, which enables us to see the need for it! Had Ezekiel not been in the
Spirit, he would not have seen the potential for these bones to be restored.
But, being in the Spirit, he was able to identify the need and believe God at
His word! Ezekiel 37:7 states, "and AS I prophesied, there was a noise,
and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone." It
was neither before nor after his obedience that God began to work, but
"AS". Can you imagine what God will do if we will start responding to
what He is calling us to do? May we walk in complete obedience to the Spirit,
for it is the only way to make a difference in the lives of others. There is an
army ready to awake, but the process begins with us!
